Privacy Policy
Effective date: 21 July 2026
Detamon is a virtual pet game published by Qode LTD. This policy explains what data the game collects, why it collects it, how long it is kept, and how you can have it deleted. We have tried to keep it short and in plain language, because that is how we would want to read it ourselves.
Who we are (data controller)
The data controller for Detamon is Qode LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17259547, with its registered office at Liberty House, 30 Whitchurch Lane, Edgware, England, HA8 6LE. For anything related to your data, contact privacy@detamon.io.
The short version
- You do not need an email address, phone number, or password to play. Accounts are anonymous guest accounts tied to a random identifier generated on your device.
- The pet simulation runs entirely on your phone. We never see your step counts in raw form, your camera images, or anything you scan.
- We collect only what the online features need: a device identifier, your chosen username, team chat messages, and your purchase/claim history.
- We do not sell data, show third-party ad tracking, or profile you.
- You can delete your account and its data at any time, from inside the app or via detamon.io/delete-account.
Data we collect
- Device identifier (guest account key). On first launch the app generates a random credential on your device and registers it with our server. We store a hash of it. It identifies your game account; it is not your hardware ID, advertising ID, or anything reusable outside Detamon.
- Chosen username. If you pick a username for the social features, it is stored on our server and visible to other players (friends lists, teams, chat).
- Team chat messages. Messages you send in team chat are stored so they can be delivered, filtered for abusive content, and reviewed if another player reports them.
- Purchase and claim history. A ledger of in-game currency (Pixels) earned and spent, shop purchases, and reward claims. This keeps balances correct and helps us investigate errors or abuse.
- Basic technical logs. Login timestamps and app version, used for support and abuse prevention.
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, camera images, or raw step data. Steps are counted and processed only on your device.
How we use the data
- To operate your account, wallet, friends list, team, and chat.
- To moderate chat: automated filtering plus human review of reported messages, so the game stays safe for everyone.
- To prevent cheating and fraud (for example, reward claim limits).
- To fix bugs and provide player support.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties except the hosting providers that run our infrastructure (server hosting and database hosting in the European Union) under contracts that restrict them to processing on our behalf.
Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS. Account credentials are stored as hashes, not in plain form. Access to production data is restricted to the operator of the service.
Retention
- Account data (identifier, username, wallet, inventory) is kept while your account exists.
- Team chat messages are kept on a rolling basis (roughly the most recent 500 messages per team) and are deleted when older messages push them out, when the team is disbanded, or when your account is deleted.
- Reported-message snapshots are kept while a moderation case is open and for a short period afterwards for appeal handling.
- After account deletion, ledger rows are anonymized (kept only as accounting totals with no link to you).
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account, or follow the instructions at detamon.io/delete-account if you no longer have the app installed. Deletion removes your account, username, chat messages, friends and team memberships; the local pet on your device is unaffected until you uninstall the app.
Children
Detamon's online features are not directed at children under 13. The app asks for a date of birth at first launch; players under 13 play in fully offline mode — no account is created, no data is sent to our servers, and social features are unavailable.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, export, and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. The legal basis for our processing is the performance of our contract with you (running the game service) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and fair. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below — please include your in-game username or player ID so we can find your account.
